About the Project Book
For more than sixty years, the Maclellan Family Foundations have sought to be stewards of God’s resources. Through our journey, we felt God’s call to share his message of generosity with others, and under the leadership of Daryl Heald, Generous Giving was born to address the WHY of giving. Through the work of Generous Giving, we discovered that those who embraced the biblical stewardship message often needed help in taking the next steps –WHERE to be generous and HOW to be strategic.
Maclellan’s experience in grant-making is best summed-up in three intangible assets that are in addition to our financial resources: a knowledge repository of effective ministries and their leaders, an understanding of strategy and proven models, and the ability to convene those of a like mind.
The Project Book unites these assets in a unique way. Through providing you with giving opportunities, we hope to share some of what we’ve learned and what models have proven effective over time. In addition, by carefully selecting projects from the Maclellan Foundation database and from those of our peers, we hope to bring together givers and ministries in order to see Christ’s Kingdom advanced.
Because we see ourselves as stewards, we are motivated to be strategic and leveraged in our giving. In our opinion, being strategic implies having the greatest impact with God’s money and being leveraged means seeing the greatest multiplication of that money. Although we hope to share our heart and our resources through the Project Book, we understand that our methods are not the only ones available or beneficial. Still, they have proved helpful to us in our journey of stewardship, and we hope that you will find them to be of use in yours. However, just because a project is in the Project Book does not ensure its success. We challenge you to develop relationships with those to whom you give and to practice your own due diligence regarding your giving. Our heart is simply to be transparent in all that we do.
